About
I am a frontend engineer who likes the hard part of the problem.
I am Muhammad Akram, a senior frontend engineer based in Dubai, UAE. For the last seven years I have built web products where the interface is the product — AI platforms, logistics marketplaces, financial tooling — and where a slow or confusing screen has a real cost.
I started as a frontend developer shipping booking flows at Trukkr, then moved into senior work building agentic AI products at AIREV. Today I build product end-to-end at Komut, a social commute platform, from discovery with design through to production.
The through-line is craft. I care about bundle size, keyboard paths, semantic markup, type-safe contracts and design systems that stay coherent after the tenth sprint. The last 10% is where products are won or lost.
01/Principles
How I work
The rules I keep applying, because they keep paying off.
- 01
Performance is a feature
A budget agreed with design and product before implementation starts. Interactivity, not just a Lighthouse score.
- 02
Accessibility is not optional
Keyboard paths, focus order, contrast and semantics checked as part of the work — not patched before launch.
- 03
Types are contracts
Type the boundary between backend and interface once, and let the compiler carry the message everywhere else.
- 04
Systems beat screens
Solve the class of problem once in a primitive instead of patching the same layout for the tenth time.
- 05
Ship in slices
Thin, reviewable, shippable increments. Short feedback loops beat big-bang launches every time.
